MY COMMENTS:
If I said that Jay Sankey was one of the most creative and
entertaining magicians of our time, I don't think I'd get
many that would disagree.  And, though Jay is not
exclusively a mentalist, he is most definitely a magician,
he certainly understands that mentalism consists of effects
that are raw and rely mostly on presentation.

Jay has some wonderful ideas for mentalists and there is
some really cool stuff here.  However, being a magician,
there is a preponderance of card effects.  Of the 22 "blows"
on this DVD, 13 are playing card effects.  The rest deal
with envelopes, drawings, hole punches, business cards, and
dollar bills.  He's got a very nice serial number effect
that uses one of his famous techniques.  I really like his
"Homicide" that is a very bizarre bank nite type of effect.
And there has been a lot of talk about his "Memory Lapse" in
which a spectator forgets a symbol shown.  It uses a very
old principle in a completely unique and entertaining way.

This is not to say that the card stuff isn't good.  There's
some good stuff there, too, but some performers who don't
like card tricks may pass on this knowing that there are
only 8 effects that they'll be able to do.  Finally, I
should also point out that most of these effects are for
close-up or parlor situations.  And that most of these
effects can be done impromptu or with a few minutes of
set-up time.  Other than that, Jay is a delight to watch,
the DVD is very entertaining, and it's certainly recommended
if the description above piques your interest.
