THE BLURB:
The Clipboard it self is a very regular and simple black and
very thin board, which gives it a very innocent look. It is
standard letter size. Actually it is a modified regular
clipboard with a small but very significant addition. The
AFA Clipboard is very easy to operate, you can use it any
time and in any situation; it is excellent for “reading” any
thought or information, like pictures, words, numbers or
anything else that comes into your mind. One of its biggest
advantages is that you can get information live on stage in
front of the audience with it and that very easily. You can
also work with it before the show and get information from
up to 4 people simultaneously.
It can be used foe countless routines, and I’m sure that in
the moment you’ll get it, you’ll want to use it for all your
usual “reading” routines. And the AFA Clipboard will help
you to improve them even more – for sure. And last but not
least, no need for feelers or special materials (maybe to
change the feeler of the marker once in a blue moon –which
will take you seconds).
As said the AFA Clipboard is practical, easy and quick to
use, convenient, impromptu able and absolutely innocent
looking – you have it today I guarantee you’ll never leave
the house without it.
Reviews
"The clip board is the most deceptive one I have ever seen.
It looks normal and it can be handled freely without any
fear of detection. The use of the felt tip marker rather
than a pen or pencil seems to should negate the use of
carbonaceous in the minds of the suspicious. The reset takes
but a few seconds and the clip board is always ready to go.
It is well constructed. What a clever man Goldenberg is.
This prop fooled my wife Janie.. and she has very high
standards, I was so fooled by this clever devise that I
needed an explanation after the demo. An Absolutely
practical and devious invention.."

MY COMMENTS:
Okay, I don't know if I'm quite as enthusiastic about this
clipboard as Barrie Richardson in his testimonial, but it
certainly is an impressive device. A.F.A. stands for
Absolutely Fabulous and Amazing Clipboard. It uses the Buma
technology (with credits to Mark Burger who owns the rights
to this technology in the use of mentalism though it's not
clear whether he gave permission for this or not).
I can't explain how it works for obvious reasons, but I can
describe the clipboard. It looks like an ordinary fold-over
vinyl clipboard/notebook. There is an inside pocket for
papers on the left side when you open the folder. On the
inside right, a built-in clip at the top holds the papers.
The gaffus that allows the performer to gain information is
hidden unless you know where to look. And it's very easy
for the performer to access the information. This clipboard
can be used for pre-show or for real-time work.
My only concern is the longevity of the prop. Most of the
recent clipboards made from the vinyl material have cracked
with repeated use. I can't verify how long these clipboards
will last. All I can say is that when I toyed with it, it
worked extremely well. In terms of price, it is certainly
priced fairly. It comes with six pages of illustrated
instructions, which don't really cover any routines. There
are a couple of ideas presented, though. You also get a
special marker (and the tip can easily be replaced when
needed) and a special credit card "eraser." As of this
writing, this is certainly one of the best clipboards
available.
