MY COMMENTS:
Carlyle's first DVD was quite well-received and considered
one of the classic DVDs for mentalists. For those that
don't know, Carlyle is one of the mentalism community's most
respected members. Most of the material here is his touches
on classic material, hence the title.

Without question, the best item, the one that's "worth the
price," is the "Butter Tub Prediction." This is a headline
prediction, but the method is unlike anything you've seen
before. It involves no switches and no gimmicks. It uses
an empty plastic butter container, the kind you'd find at
most markets. It's not gimmicked in any way. Obviously,
it's all in the handling and it's very easy to do.

Briefly, an envelope that was sent to the V.I.P. (or
whomever) is brought up on stage. It's sealed. The V.I.P.
opens it up and dumps out the contents into the butter tub.
Then the V.I.P. proceeds to pick out each slip as the
performer dramatically reveals the contents on each. To
clarify, during the performance, the performer never touches
the envelope, nor the slips that were inside. It's
extremely clean and extremely clever.

Now, this is not to say that the rest of the material isn't
good. But the butter tub principle is something that can be
versatile and is the one bit on this DVD that truly kept me
up thinking about it. Other routines involve books, ESP
symbols, drawing duplications, playing cards, and numbers.
Also, the DVD contains eight PDF files which are
instructions to most of the routines, in addition to two
graphics of crystal balls to use.
