THE BLURB:
The next step in chair predictions.
Three, or more, people sit on any chair on stage, take any
envelope and think of different thoughts. Not only have you
predicted where they will sit, you predict the exact thought
they are thinking as it has been printed and placed inside
the envelope they are holding!
There is No Pre Show, Stooging, Technology, Gaffed
Envelopes, Assistants... Required!
The chair prediction concept has long been a favourite idea
of mine and I have been toying with ideas for as long as I
can remember.
Many fantastic routines exist where you predict where
someone will sit, however I decided I wanted to take it to
the next level and predict the exact thoughts people would
have while on stage... this is my result!
I have written an in depth look at the various techniques I
have applied within my own performances and I explain how
and why I made this my closing routine in my stage show. I
haven’t held back, I have given my exact progression of
routines, I explain my process for creating the routines I
use and explain the proper use of dual reality to ensure the
routine is incredibly powerful for everyone taking part and
watching the performance.
This is a limited edition E-Book for which only 50 will ever
be sold. I feel with all effects, there is a danger of too
many people doing the same things, I strive to make sure
what I am doing is unique, so by making this such a small
number you too will know what you are performing is
something very few others will re create.
I also feel that by selling this as an E-Book, you will
receive it almost immediately allowing you to study it much
quicker!
This routine has been designed for PERFORMERS who can add
this to their current act. Please understand performing
ability is essential with this routine as it has been
designed to play to a real audience.
Technical Aspects- The file is around 8.5Mb. I aim to send
files out within a maximum 24 Hour window of your ordering.
If the file doesn’t seem to have arrived please check your
‘spam’ or ‘junk’ mail folder as your e-mail provider may
have sent it directly there.
-Important-
I explain how to do all of my own chair tests and then
explain how to adapt my thinking to chair tests you may
already do!
Gary Kurtz’s Method will NOT be taught in this book. It’s
not mine to teach and ethically, as a professional performer
myself, I respect the creativity of others.
I will explain how you could use it if you want to adapt it
to my principles, however it is not essential for my
routines, which are the ones you are investing in. These
are:
Chair Enigma- Predicting what people are thinking while
seated.
Chair Enigma2- Predicting the drawings of others while
seated.
These are taught in full and are the main routines other
professionals have seen me perform over the years.
While these are the two main routines you are purchasing, I
want to offer you as many bonus ideas, of my own, as
possible which will help make your chair prediction unique
to you!
"Chair routines have become a modern classic for stage
mentalists, unfortunately many have become a method puzzle
and become confusing to watch for our audiences... I have
actually heard people talking after a performers show saying
" I had no idea what the chairs were about ?" FINALLY a
routine that involves direct mind reading and predicting
your spectators behavior that easy to "get" for the
audience! I have become known for taking classic methods and
building a performance around them, so I know a gem when I
see it... and This is THE chair routine that you will love
to perform and more importantly your audience will be amazed
to watch.”

MY COMMENTS:
This is a VERY limited edition and Colin told me that there
are less than a dozen left. This is just a warning. By the
time you read this or decide to get this, you may be too
late to purchase this.
So let's just cut to the chase. If you're a fan of chair
routines, get this. Colin has taken the best elements from
other chair routines and created an entirely new, inventive
routine. Though he names others as inspiration I do feel
it's a cross between the work of Barrie Richardson and Bruce
Bernstein, which he lists as references in the book. Other
inspirations include David Berglass, Patrick Redford, and
Gary Kurtz, among others.
There are some considerations for performing this routine.
They are very similar to those one would use when
considering doing a tossed-out deck routine. I'm not saying
the methods and presentation are similar, just the
considerations. In other words, you need to consider
audience size, audience make-up, and audience management.
This is going to sound vague, but there are some -- how
shall I say it? -- Kenton-esque qualities about this
handling. Again, this is neither good nor bad, but merely
considerations.
I haven't watched many performers do chair routines and have
only read the details and descriptions of them. I am
familiar with the ones referenced in Colin's manuscript.
Colin presents his basic ideas and then takes you through an
enlightening journey of how he developed various versions up
through the one he's currently using, and the routine that's
the main focus of this 45 page e-book. Though I don't do
chair routines now, I will say if I ever do, I will use this
as a starting point to create my chair routine. This is
definitely a worker's chair routine.
