For the record, though, if you wish to share my thoughts and

highlights of my newsletters.  In the case of reviews,
though, which I'm constantly updating and tweaking, I'd much

Thanks so much in advance.

Now, let's move on.

***** TRIO AND THE MEMORY PILL ACT
The creator of the classic Blister effect, Jack Kent Tillar,
has a new book destined to be a mentalism classic. TRIO is
a book comprised of three complete knock-out mentalism acts.
And THE MEMORY PILL ACT, one of Bascom Jones' favorites, is
a complete act, as well.  Getting paid to do any one of
these acts will more than cover the cost of both.  Step on
over to the Marketplace of the Mind and check them out, if
you haven't already.  And, if you have and have not ordered
them, do so.  I know that you'll be glad you did.

Incidentally, the price will be going up on May 1 for THE
MEMORY PILL ACT.  Those who purchase TMPA at its $19.95
price will be receiving an e-mail about how to obtain the
next e-book, the second volume of The Private Files of Jack
Kent Tillar, before anyone else and a special sale price.

***** MARKETPACE MEMBERSHIP CLUB
The second issue of Jheff's Journal of the Mind features
John Riggs.  The issue features some killer stuff that you
don't want to miss.  To get it, you need to buy a membership
in the Marketplace of the Mind. For the $37 cost
you get a subscription to the 2007 issues of
Jheff's Journal of the Mind, an all-new e-zine for
mentalists, and an additional 5% discount off merchandise
from the Marketplace of the Mind.  There will also be
specials and other stuff throughout the year.  Check out the
free preview edition of the Bonus #0 issue featuring Jack
Kent Tillar.  Go to the website and click on the banner at

***** THE FRIENDS OF THE MARKETPLACE
Don't forget to check out the new Friends of the Marketplace
section. This is for those creators who are producing
wonderful products that I don't carry.  This is because, to
save overhead, I order as needed from my distributor, and
these creators aren't mass distributing it.  If you'd like
me to review your product and help you sell it, then you'll
find details about the Friends of the Marketplace program on
the website.  There's a button on the left hand side for you
to click on.

Brand new to the section are Loren Tindall's beautiful new
THE DELPHI PORTAL, which is a must-have prop for anyone who
is a reader, and Gene Nielsen's THE MAGICK YEARS, a jam-
packed e-book filled with over 70 professional and varied
routines.

You'll also find John Rigg's John Riggs' first three
volumes of his DVD series, GODS WITH FEET OF CLAY.  This
is definitely a series that you don't want to miss.  And
then there's Millard Longman's incredible new peek
method,ACIDUS GLOBUS; Alan Strydom's very nice and powerful
routine, CREATING IMPACT; and Enrique Enriquez' The
Invisible Tarot, a wonderful reading system for Tarot cards.
Also, you'll find Reflections, an impressive new prop from
Outlaw Products, who also produced the wonderful Homicide,
Manhattanville, Sinister, and Kioku. You'll also find
links to some other wonderful products. There's the new
version of Nick Morton's A Dangerous Love, which is a
unique book test; Josh Quinn's Ascension, which is a
diabolical reading system using supermarket horoscope
books; Millard Longman's Acidus Novus DVD, a masters
course on one of mentalism's most important techniques;
Bryn Reynold's powerful casino card effect, Double Down,
and his serial number divination gem, simply entitled $.

Remember, I don't make a dime on this stuff.  I do this
because I think the stuff is very good and worth it.

JOHN RIGGS
GODS WITH FEET OF CLAY
VOLUME ONE: IMMACULATE IMPRESSIONS
Suggested Retail Price: $35
Available at:
http://www.jonsaintgermain.com/gods.htm

THE BLURB:
Gods With Feet of Clay -- an iconoclastic look at Mentalism.

My philosophy behind this series is a bit different than the
usual modern production. I have no studio audience filled
with overenthusiastic stooges presented in a contrived
setting. These DVDs will not be slick studio packages with
expensive production values. Consequently, these will not be
mass-marketed to magic shops, internet stores, nor any other
venue where any 12 year old, curious reporter, or skeptical
debunker can walk in and purchase an education in the
secrets of mentalism. I make each one of these by hand, for
you. I wanted these DVDs to be a discussion between me and
you, in an intimate setting, discussing a topic of interest
to us both: the art and performance of mentalism. Here they
are:

VOLUME ONE : IMMACULATE IMPRESSIONS

It's been almost ten years since the prototype of the Brown
Hornet was created. In that time, I've developed several
variations on the basic theme of a good, reliable and
innocent-looking professional tool.

In this, the first of a multi-volume DVD series, I discuss
and demonstrate all aspects of each impression device, along
with handling tips, presentations, and many ideas that I
hitherto only shared with a few friends.

This is a multi-camera shoot, with extensive close-ups,
over-the-shoulder and insert shots to make every handling
crystal-clear. I'm very proud of this DVD; it's
head-and-shoulders above my previous videos.

Playing time is over one hour, with scene selections and
fully operational interactive menus so you can replay or
jump to the topic that interests you most.

Covered in this DVD are:

    * The Brown Hornet
    * The Cicada
    * The Butterfly
    * The Baby Hornet
    * The Skeeter
    * Peeks, peeks and more peeks
    * Repair tips
    * Handling tips
    * Much much more

Gods With Feet of Clay Volume One $35

Gods With Feet of Clay -- an iconoclastic look at Mentalism

MY COMMENTS:
This is certainly a low-budget, homemade shoot.  However,
that shouldn't stop anyone from ordering this disc which
contains a mix of John's brilliant thinking and caustic wit.
John has taken some of the best material from among his
mentalism creations and published works and has presented
them here in this series.

With a running time of just over an hour, this first volume
features the impressions device for which John is best
known.  The Brown Hornet, Cicada, Baby Hornet, Skeeter,
Butterfly and Mascot Moth are shown and explained with
handling tips for each.  John also provides tips on care and
repair, too.  Along with that, John shares his insight on
how to do pre-show work and a few other mentalism
techniques.

Obviously, if you own one of John's impression devices, you
should get this.  But if you've ever done work with any type
of impression device, you'll find invaluable information.
And if you've never worked with impression devices, this
will open your eyes to the world of them.  If you never plan
on using impression devices, oh, well then, get this anyway,
because John is one of the masters and you'll enjoy his
wisdom nonetheless.

GODS WITH FEET OF CLAY
VOLUME TWO: FLASHES FROM THE VIOLET HOUR
Suggested Retail Price: $35

are:

VOLUME TWO : FLASHES FROM THE VIOLET HOUR

This volume contains several ideas, some from my books
(expanded and demonstrated) and some from my secret
notebooks. Some of these techniques I've held close for
years and only showed to a couple of very close friends.

Contents include:

    * Ouija Whiteboard: a utility device that doubles as a
visual aid and audience creepout ploy. This little number
single-handedly provoked several complaints from Christian
schools when I used it in a showcase at APCA one year. Ya
gotta love something that creeps out the norms.
    * Riggs Multipurpose Wallet: This is a gimmicked wallet
you make yourself from a regular wallet cheaply obtained
from Wal-Mart or other retail outlet. This is not a peek
wallet, but one that I originally designed for
Card-to-Wallet and went on to use to load a folded
prediction. It's a new weird concept, very easy, and with no
slits or openings. It takes advantage of the natural design
of a bifold wallet.
    * Bumbershoot Q and A: Explained and demonstrated.
    * Book Test stuff: using cheap ungimmicked books and an
idea I've held closely guarded for a long time.
    * Several business card effects.
    * Sneak Peek Envelope: this is the item worth an arm and
a leg, in my opinion. I kept this secret for years despite
the begging of many friends. Information written on a
business card and sealed within two completely opaque
envelopes can be peeked instantly. Two unique applications
other than the obvious ones.
    * My nifty James Bond PW Device.
    * Ostin clip handlings and techniques, including my
Visual Retention Billet Drop, which will delight you.
    * Key Shocker, from Heavy Mental, my one and only mental
bending innovation.
    * Vintage footage bonus track.
    * And more, of course. This is a multi-camera shoot,
with extensive close-ups, over-the-shoulder and insert shots
to make every handling crystal-clear.

Gods With Feet of Clay Volume TWO $35.

Gods With Feet of Clay -- an iconoclastic look at Mentalism

MY COMMENTS:
As I wrote in my comments for the series' first volume,
this is certainly a low-budget, homemade shoot.  However,
that shouldn't stop anyone from ordering this disc which
contains a mix of John's brilliant thinking and caustic wit.
John has taken some of the best material from among his
mentalism creations and published works and has presented
them here in this series.

This second volume is jam-packed with some really cool
ideas.  Of course, one would expect that from John Riggs.
His Sneak Peek Envelope is truly, as the blurb claims,
"worth an arm and a leg."  With this, you can seal something
into an envelope, still gain information from it after it's
been sealed, and not worry about the participants
discovering the clever method.  His book test and Q & A
ideas are priceless, too.  Look, Riggs always puts out
useable, practical, tested stuff.  If his name is on it, buy
it.  You won't regret it.

JOHN RIGGS
GODS WITH FEET OF CLAY
VOLUME THREE: MACHINATIONS AND MODULATIONS
Suggested Retail Price: $35
Available at:

you. I wanted these DVDs to be a discussion between me and
you, in an intimate setting, discussing a topic of interest
to us both: the art and performance of mentalism. Here they
are:

VOLUME THREE : MACHINATIONS AND MODULATIONS

Contents include:

Slow-Motion Gellerism -- a slow-motion silverware bending
method.

Another Peek at Jaks -- discussion of some revolutionary
handling for the first and best of the peek wallets.

Psychological Bank Nite -- simple methods combined with
psychological ploys.

The Marvelous Mucking Peek -- a peek I've held close for
years. A thought is written on a business card which is held
in full view on the palm of your outstretched hand. it's
briefly covered with your other hand and you gain the
information. This is no exaggeration. This is the item worth
the price of this DVD in my opinion. I truly had pangs when
I let this go, but it was on the verge of being tipped by
someone to whom I showed it, so I thought perhaps it was
time.

Reviving Room Service -- one of my favorite openers given a
new life and a new handling.

Whillicker's Last Trick -- for the first time the complete
handling of my SWITCHLESS razor blade trick is explained,
complete with performance. This was partially described in
Heavy Mental but several key points were omitted because I
couldn't bear to part with them. Here, everything is
explained step by step.

Like the others in this series, this is a multi-camera
shoot, with extensive close-ups, over-the-shoulder and
insert shots to make every handling crystal-clear.

This disc focuses on classic routines, some not really
mentalism, like the razor blade swallowing routine.  As
usual, though, John's approach to these routines is
practical and clever.  And let's not forget his "Marvelous
Mucking Peek," which I agree is the best thing on this disc,
although the other stuff is extremely good, too.  Due to
John revisiting classic material, I certainly wouldn't
recommend novice mentalists purchase this.  Otherwise, John
is one of the true masters of our craft of mentalism.
Anything mentalism related that he produces is highly
recommended and this is no exception.
