THE BLURB:
A fantastic Rubik effect that you can carry in your wallet!

This new effect from Rubik's Cube expert Mark Elsdon allows
you to tap into the fun, mystery and impossibility of
solving the Cube - without even needing to carry one! A
spectator freely chooses a random mixed-up Cube design and
without any sleights, gaffs or 'outs' the performer reveals
a photo that predicts the design exactly!

Comes complete with Rubik's Cube: Expert Practice Cards and
the photo prediction.
Everything is examinable.
Only one photo used.
No sleights or moves required whatsoever.
No memory work.

"It's a brilliant prediction trick, it's visual and
colourful, dead easy to do, spectator proof and nastily
deceptive. I love it, so will you and your audiences. Ten
out of ten to Mark Elsdon for devising this elegant gem."
- Ian Rowland.

If you already perform Rubik Remembered then Rubik Predicted
is the idea companion effect to perform either before or
directly after!

If you do not already own Rubik Rememebred - then take
advantage of the bundle deal when ordering and get both!

MY COMMENTS:
This is a fun prediction effect that uses props that are
unique and unusual. It's designed to be portable and so
you're not using an actual Rubik's Cube, but cards and a
photo in an envelope. The photo is approximately 4x4" and
comes in a square envelope slightly larger to accommodate
it.

The effect, as described in the blurb, is not quite
accurate. Let me describe it. The performer shows a small
stack of Rubik's Cube Expert Practice Cards. He explains
that Rubik's Cube pros use them to practice by duplicating
the pattern on the card onto the top side of a Rubik's Cube.
An envelope with a photograph is introduced and placed
aside. The cards, which are shown to be all different, are
shuffled by the participant and one card is selected. The
photo is then revealed and the patterns on the card and
photo match.

Considerations include that you're not actually using a
Rubik's Cube, but cards, which are unusual (and, in fact,
they don't really exist), so you do have to include some
expository patter about them. One other thing I found was
that the included picture is much bigger than what is in the
demo video. The picture is not pocket-sized (at least, not
shirt-pocket sized). It's a simple matter to scan it and
print it out in the appropriate size, but one shouldn't have
to do that.

I've been having fun with this effect and don't perform it
like a prediction, but more of a mind projection effect. I
put the photo on the table. I hold up the deck with the
faces toward me and put them face-up on the table as I look
at each card and then into the eyes of the participant.
When they feel that they sense I want them to stop, they say
so. And the stopped-at card and photo match, of course.

The package comes with a 35 minute DVD with performances and
detailed explanations by Mark Elsdon. He includes a few
different handlings (I particularly liked the alternate
handling better than the original). The package also
includes the Expert Practice Cards, the photo, and the
envelope. Definitely recommended if this appeals to you.
