RUNNING THE NUMBERS
$45
THE BLURB:
A wonderful tool for the mind reader...
You will wonder how you managed without it!
One example of the many possible routines with this book...
A volunteer is asked to stop you at a random page as you
flick through the book. They then look at the page number
and remember it. This is repeated with 2 more volunteers.
Thay are all thinking of different numbers. You ask them to
stand and you point to each volunteer in turn and name a
number and say 'If I correctly named your number will you
please sit down now' The 3 volunteers sitting down
simultaneously is an instant cue for thunderous applause!
This presentation is similar to the Hoy tossed out deck
routine only with a book but there are many more possibile
routines with this well produced book.
And hidden on the back cover are all the key words for
INSIGHT - my ground breaking book test.
MY COMMENTS:
This is a great utility book to force numbers and to use in
conjunction with the classic and brilliant INSIGHT (also by
Keith Fields). The classic use for a utility tool such as
this is for a version of the Hoy book test. Have a page
number selected from the utility book and someone look at
that page from a second book. Where this is diabolical is
that there are four page numbers and they are totally
unrelated. In other words, in many similar force books, you
can force say, 88 and 89, two consecutive pages. In this,
the page numbers are not consecutive so that the force
numbers seem to be quite randomly selected.
The book itself is the same size as the new edition of
Insight (about 5x7"). As mentioned above, besides the force
features, it has the crib for Insight on the back cover.
The front cover, which looks like a close-up of ticker
tapes, contains the crib for the four page numbers, so you
don't even have to remember those. Though the "tossed-out
deck"-style routine described in the blurb sounds contrived
to me (though, in all fairness, I haven't tried it yet),
this book is really a utility tool and it's only one of many
possible routines.
For those who own Insight, I highly recommend investing in
this and that should be a no-brainer decision. For those
who are simply looking for a really good force book, this
one is certainly one of the better ones I've seen on the
market and highly recommended for that use, too.
