The billet switch is one of the most powerful tools in
Mentalism. I always marveled at the wonderful assortment of
entertaining billet routines in the literature. Later, I
came to realize that those effects are just the beginning.
With a billet switch, you can present just about any mental
effect imaginable. There really are no limits.

Unfortunately, I’m absolutely terrible at sleight of hand. I
tried the classic switches and failed miserably. I searched
and searched for easier billet moves. I found a few “close
calls,” but as much as I practiced, I was never able to get
100% comfortable with them.

Finally, I decided to try creating some new techniques;
moves so easy that even I could do them.

I set two goals for each technique. They were:

1) The move had to be VISUALLY PERFECT

I perform close-up and one-on-one mentalism. My spectators
are usually seated right in front of me, and sometimes stare
directly at my hands. I needed techniques that could
withstand that kind of scrutiny.

2) The move had to be EASY enough that I could actually
pull it off

Thankfully, after much hard work, I finally succeeded in
meeting my goals. Over time, I created a series of moves
that are so easy, even I could do them. A number of the
techniques could even be classified as near SELF WORKING.
Believe me: if I can do them, you can too.

Of course, the book isn’t just about moves. Once you master
the techniques (and you WILL master them), you’ll want to
put them into action right away.

In the book, I’ll teach you the theory behind billet
routines. When we’re done, you won’t need other people’s
effects. You’ll have all the tools required to create your
own customized routines anytime you want. Of course, as
examples, I also teach a lot of my own strong material.
Still, nothing beats a customized effect of your own
creation. You’ll see.

MY COMMENTS:
Let me assure you that Elliott was working on compiling this
during the early part of 2006 and had no idea of what Allan
Zingg was including in his Master Billet Course DVDs. He
even published much of the work on a private forum for
professional mentalists before Allan's video was released.
The result is a work of incredible merit that does have some
overlapping ideas (and one based on an Allan Zingg technique
that he graciously gave Elliott permission to include) that
achieve the goals that Elliott states in his blurb.

As you can tell from the list, this 122 page manuscript
contains about a dozen techniques, some articles on theory,
and more than a dozen routines. It includes a generous
amount of color photos. The pictures aren't professional,
and in some cases blurry, but they do convey the visual info
you need. Above all, for the current price Elliott is
asking for this downloadable e-book, this is a steal. As I
mentioned in my year-end assessment, this is one of the best
e-books for mentalists released in 2006.
