MY COMMENTS:
For the record, I think the best work on tarot reading is
Enrique Enriquez' INIVISIBLE TAROT and Scott Grossberg's
BAUTA. However, both of these works assume you know the
basics of tarot cards. There are plenty of good books to
learn the tarot, but this two DVD set is an easy, practical,
and excellent place to learn the basics you'll need. It
actually complements Enrique's and Scott's works should you
choose to move on and go in that direction.
The DVD set comprises two discs. The first disc covers the
meanings of the cards. Dean explains that you should know
two things, numerology and the meanings of the suit, in
order to learn the cards. Using animations, he concisely
the explains the meanings. The second DVD discussing
readings, tarot spreads, the business, and ethics. There's
also a PDF file of the book TAROT WITH 'TUDE.
Throughout the series, Dean stresses that he teaches his way
of reading and his way of interpreting cards. He also
stresses that others have different ways of reading cards,
points out that we will all have and should have different
ways, and encourages us to develop them. This is, indeed, a
wonderful approach, as I've seen many books just give you
lists of meanings and imply that you need to memorize them.
Here, you're given a system, taught how to apply it to your
instincts, and wisely instructed to make it an individual
methodology. And, though experienced readers may certainly
disagree with some of the approaches presented here, that's
exactly what's stressed. Every reader is different,
including the person who's teaching you.
I'm not so sure that experienced readers will glean anything
from this set, but if you're looking for a comprehensive DVD
set to help you learn the basics of Tarot, I haven't seen
one with such a wise, easy, and comprehensive approach, and
so this gets my highest recommendation if you're looking for
basic level Tarot lessons.
