You display a well mixed deck of playing cards.
Your spectator starts dealing the cards (face up) and stops
whenever they please (free choice or does the power of a
certain card sway their decision?)
You state that whichever card they stop at will be their
lucky card. You remove from your pocket a folded A5 sheet of
paper and the Cartomancy Scratch card. The sheet is unfolded
to show a list containing each playing card and its meaning.
After you read out what the Chosen playing card has in store
for your spectator you point to the scratch card and say
there is only one way to really know if this is your lucky
card. Your spectator scratches of the panel to reveal the
very same card they stopped at only a moment ago!
Cartomancy is easy to perform, Has an interesting storyline
and makes a great giveaway and promotional item.

MY COMMENTS:
This is a very handsome, well-produced product. The package
includes an ordinary deck of cards, plus some extra cards,
so that you can make up your own Koran deck. I shouldn't
think I need to explain what that is, but Peter Nardi gives
a very thorough explanation of how to construct and use such
a deck. In addition, the package includes 40 scratcher
cards, 10 each of 4 different ones. Each scratcher card
reveals a chosen lucky card.
The package also includes a very nice giveaway that has
brief meanings of all 52 cards. Of course, the performer of
this effect need only know four of those meanings. And you
don't need to memorize them because the meanings are on the
giveaway sheet.
Now, none of these qualities or props, in and of themselves,
are drawbacks. It's because they are combined that gives me
cause to consider. Professionals really don't need to use a
special deck to accomplish what's necessary as it's not
difficult for experienced mentalists to find ways to either
read the meanings of any card or cause a participant to
choose a card from an ordinary deck.
Still, the explanation of the Koran deck on the DVD is
first-rate and the scratchers (refills are available) and
giveaway meanings sheets are handsomely produced. The DVD
also contains the PDF so you can print and customize your
own giveaways. And they do make very nice tick sheets for
that purpose.
If you do, or wish to do, card readings, then the giveaway
is worth the price of this. If you don't have a Koran deck,
or wish to find out more about it and/or obtain one, this is
worth the price for that, too. Like most of Peter Nardi's
products, this is well-thought out and can be quite useful
if you have a need for it, but I'd rank this item as
something I'd highly recommend for magicians or less
experienced mentalists.
