MY COMMENTS:
This is an incredible utility device and definitely superior
to the original, which, as some may remember, I couldn't
recommend. In the original, with constant use, the
batteries would run out after a few months. There was no
way to replace them oneself. One had to send this expensive
device back to the manufacturer for a replacement battery.
That means you needed to purchase two: one to use and one to
have in the shop. Sort of like owning a Jaguar, from what
I've told.

Thanks to input from Christopher Taylor, Mozique has
redesigned this unit so that one can replace the batteries
and those batteries are easily obtainable from electronics
stores or the internet. Also, this is a working Sharpie and
another nice feature is that one can refill the ink. I
don't have an original to compare it to and so I can't
verify whether the motor actually is smoother or better, but
it certainly works very well. There is a faint hum when it
vibrates, but I don't think anyone will know what that brief
hum is (it only needs to work for a second) and in noisier
venues it won't even be noticed.

As a note, readers of my comments know that I ranked Jerome
Finley's Thought Channel the best product of 2008. This was
a method that, when practiced, could yield 100% results on
the "guess-which-hand" plot using no gimmicks and doing it
essentially for real. Therefore, it should come as no
surprise that I say that if you're interested in buying this
to do that type of routine, spend it on Finley's brilliant
manuscript and its sequel instead. You really don't need an
expensive gimmick for this type of routine unless you have
really bad eyesight.

However, there are far more applications to a gimmick of
this sort than just doing that aforementioned routine. An
obvious application is the "smash and stab" routine.
Mozique and Dr. John explain quite a few more applications
for this product, however the routines presented are solidly
mental magic or magic routines (Mozique explains that he
uses the Cobra Sharpie as a normal marker for his ambitious
card routine). It should spark much creativity, though, and
the experienced mentalist should be able to come up with a
very powerful routine. I'll also note that there are
several references to a set of PDF instructions which are
supposed to included on the DVD, but I didn't find it when I
examined the DVD. The DVD runs 90 minutes approximately and,
besides discussing ideas for routines, there is also
information about how to replace the battery and refill the
ink.

The important improvement of being able to replace the
battery easily yourself and being able to refill the nib of
the market makes this a utility device that's easy to use
and easily applicable to numerous routines that are (and
here's that old phrase again) "limited by your own
imagination." The package includes the DVD instructions and
a Cobra Sharpie. Cobra Sharpie 2.0 is now a utility gimmick
that you will use. Recommended.
