MY COMMENTS:
I'm not familiar with the NEVERMIND ebook, but with two
exceptions this is mostly mentalism using playing cards.
Most of the effects employ gimmmicks, sleights, special
decks, etc. What I found to be the best effects, or at
least the ones that really piqued my interest, can't be done
with an ordinary deck of cards. Nothing wrong with that, by
the way. Just saying.
I did find it odd that the disc featured Dave Forrest, when
most of the routines are Mat L'Anoire's. Apparently, his
scheduled precluded him from appearing on a disc featuring
his material. I guess re-scheduling was out of the
question. Dave Forrest is a pleasant enough performer and
teacher, so it's not a major criticism. It's just...um,
weird.
Anyhow, if you're looking for strong mentalism with playing
cards that can be done with a borrowed deck, look elsewhere.
But if you don't mind using special set-ups and gimmicks,
then there's really solid ideas in this DVD that I found
very thought-provoking.
