(THE BLURB:
PROFEIGN - a book on mentalism. A peek, a switch, pendulum
work. A few presentations that use a certain, singular move.
A take on fourth dimensional telepathy. An updated version
and handling of a now retired book-test. This is now the
hateful notepad. A few impromptu looking devices and
techniques to switch billets. As well as an interesting use
for the imp devices made by John Riggs. So, if billets,
pendulums, books, envelopes and other such delights are your
thing. PROFEIGN will offer you something a little
different. There is also a reading system included, that will
create a wonderful little keepsake for your audience. The
reading is available seperately, called - TESSARULA

MY COMMENTS:
In an essay at the beginning of the book, Dunford writes,
"For me, mentalism is about sharing yourself, your
personality with the people you perform for." And, indeed,
this book is a quite personal collection of material.

There is a variety of stuff in this 6" x 9" softcover book
(see a list of contents below) and I'm sure there will be an
idea or two that will definitely pique your interest. It
runs the gamut from color forces to readings to billet
switches and peeks. Some items are full routines and some
are ideas. Also, Ticketology, which is a reading system, is
being sold separately. It is called TESSARULA.

The one "weak" item in the book is "PK Photograph." The
routine itself is strong, but I really dislike that after
reading the presentation, one gets the following single
sentence as the method: "Please check Banachek's PK Touches
for method." It would have been better had Dunford given
this info right up front and mentioned that he was including
his presentation for academic purposes and that the method
would not be discussed. Even better, he could written
Banachek and gotten permission to discuss the method, which
I think would have been granted. It is a minor point,
indeed, but I think some readers may feel cheated by this if
they didn't know the method wasn't really going to be
explained in detail.

Despite that, it's a good collection of ideas and routines
and, of course, is recommended.
