Psypher is extremely easy to use but throw in some basic
card technique and routining from B. Smith and your levels
of deception and impact just went up a few notches. Of

the work go right ahead, that's what it's here for! Here are
some of the routines taught on the DVD:
E-Z - This effect is one of the most pure mentalism effects
conceivable with a deck of cards. Your spectator is asked to
think of ANY card in the deck, write it down on a piece of
paper, and put that piece of paper in their pocket. All of
which is done while your back is turned; you can even be in
another room! When you return, you remove the cards from the
box and place one face down card on the table. Ask the
spectator to name the card they are merely thinking of...
the spectator turns the card over and it is the thought of
card!! Card magic doesn't get any more powerful!
Time zone - Imagine a spectator thinks of a time, a second
spectator removes 3 cards from the deck, when the thought of
time is named the second spectator reveals her cards... you
guessed it, the value of the cards match the thought of
time!
Name and Card Routine - This is B. Smiths killer card
routine with multiple, impossible climaxes! Imagine not only

From reading this blurb, you'd think you're getting
something that's more revolutionary than the bread slicer.
Not so. The technology isn't new. The effects and routines
aren't new or inspiring. However, the utility props are
well-made and they are certainly more powerful than the
previous release, Universal Impression.
What you're buying, therefore, is the gimmick material and
the other gimmick (I think you know what I'm talking about).
For that alone, it's worth it if you can use this. You also
get an instructional DVD which explains how to prepare that
"other gimmick," how to use the gimmick material, and how to
customize a Sharpie, if you wish to (and it's highly
suggested).
A number of people have told me that they feel that the
gimmick material is too large and they liked the size of the
original Universal Impression gimmick. That isn't a
problem. The included material is large so that you can use
it at that size or so that you can cut it down and make many
smaller gimmicks with it. One doesn't need to keep it at
the size provided.
Also included on the 90 minute DVD are routine suggestions
and performances. Frankly, I found the street magic
demonstrations to be unimpressive and the routines to be
rather mundane (most require playing cards). But the
routines are there to just get ideas for how to use this and
the working pro can come up with many others, and probably
much better ones (without playing cards, for example).
At the time of this writing, Psypher has become a very hot
item and for good reason. As I said above, the materials,
which are really what you're buying, are well-made. You can
use these materials to make almost anything you want into an
impression device and that's a pretty cool utility prop to
have handy.
