THE BLURB:
Pure telepathy is brought to you by World Class Highly paid
Mentalist: Pascal de Clermont. He has performed at
corporates, tv and private parties for over 20 years, and
for the first time agreed to explain some of his material
that he made a living of.

Contents :

Pure Telepathy
Find a card or a word simply by touching the spectator's
hands. This is the first time that this technique (The de
Clermont move) is described. Pascal has made a living on
that effect. This is just outstanding. Nothing will be as
close as real telepathy than that.

Hellstromism
Find any hidden object in a room. Your participant stays
silent and guides you with their mind. This is a complete
course on Hellstromism, also known as Cumberlandism. Pascal
teaches you all the basics, along with all the extra tips
that 20 years of practise and experience can bring.

Nose Knows
A spectator hides an object in his hand. You will find in
which hand the object is hidden each time, many times in a
row. Priorly set to be part of Mental XL, it would have been
deleted, but it turns out to be a great addition to this DVD

Running Time: Approximately 54 mins

MY COMMENTS:
Had this been released eight years ago, when this was shot,
it probably would have elicited much more buzz and
excitement. As it is, this is quite good and well worth the
price. However, the blurb is quite misleading, as producer
Stephane Jardonnet has pointed out on a popular forum.

Pure Telepathy is the heart of this DVD. That is what
you're buying. It's de Clermont's personal technique of
discovering thought-of information. It's very similar to
contact mind reading, or Hellstromism. What it looks like
is this: The performer holds the participant's hands and
begins to gently move them in a waving up-and-down motion.
While doing so, the performer makes statements and the
participant concentrates on whether the statements are true
or false. Nothing is said by the participant. Yet, a
minute or two later, the performer reveals the thought-of
information.

Like Hellstromism, this certainly takes some practice to do.
I certainly haven't mastered it yet, though I am working on
that. Also, because there is nothing extra besides the
performer and the participant, this can be done totally
impromptu. There are no props, no sleights, no stooges, and
nothing needs to be written down. This, of course, makes it
an invaluable skill to learn.

There are two more items on this disc, but they are
considered to be extras. Hellstromism, the first extra, is
an extension of Pure Telepathy. As long as de Clermont is
teaching his pet method, which is a version of Hellstromism,
he's included his take on the classic skill. He does have
some very nice touches and tips for those who are learning
this.

The final included extra is The Nose Knows. It's considered
to be a bonus. This is classic material and was supposed to
be included on de Clermont's other release, "Mental XL,"
which features basic mentalism for magicians. Though most
mentalists know this technique involving the nose, it fits
in well with this material, especially if you're unaware of
it.

Let me digress and talk about some of the technical aspects
of this disc. It's presented in French, or with English
dubbing. It is oddly amusing to me that this was filmed in
California yet used participants who knew and spoke French
(and Jardonnet has already admitted to having a hard time
finding volunteers for this). This is hardly a criticism,
but simply a personal obversation and comment.

There is no question that the Pure Telepathy technique is
well worth the money and certainly recommended, but, again,
I'll point out that the blurb doesn't make it clear that the
title routine is the centerpiece of this video. The other
two items are bonuses for those who need them.
