THE BLURB:
No matter how we as mentalists interpret and present our skills, we all are gifted with a more or less healthy mind. And for this we have the freedom to indulge our art and passion the art of mentalism. We should be thankful for this gift and realize just how lucky we are from time to time. Usually, we dont even notice our good fortune in our daily life. We forget about it and take it for granted. But there are children out there who dont have the chance to live their dreams like we do. Youngsters who have to carry a mental burden and who, without help, will never be able to live something even approaching a normal life. Obviously we cannot change the world. But we can help to take the edge off a few problems for some people. We can help to lighten a few childrens burdens - at least for a while. So we initiated a project to do so and invited several creative minds of the mental community to participate. The idea for the book's contents was a suggestion from our friend Paolo Cavalli we will come back to this aspect later. As for the good cause we followed a suggestion of another friend of ours, Les Cross: "Those gifted with 'special' mental abilities helping children with 'special' mental needs" So all profits from the book will be donated to International Mental Health Charities to help children with mental disabilities or mental imbalances. MY COMMENTS: Mentalists are a very giving lot. In the past year or so, there have been a couple of very worth charity projects which turned out to be some of the year's very best collections of mentalism. This is another one. And it's probably stronger than all the others, although that's not really a fair thing to say because each is different in its own right and it's a subjective statement to make. But just look over the list of contributors in the table of contents below. One can't get much stronger than that. The theme, if you haven't guessed, is impressions, specifically the use of impression devices. And after reading a review copy, I can tell you that it delivers. Sure, you won't like everything in this book. That's the nature of anthologies. And some of the two dozen entries in the book have been in print before. And one can certainly quibble about crediting and consistency of quality in the material. I do, though, think that you will find some routines and idea that you will really like. Priced at $50, that's about $2 per routine. Plus, all profits go to charity. One more final note on this: The publishers will make their print run based on the orders they receive in the month of December. Even though there will be some available in January when they ship, they probably won't last long and there will be no additional reprints. So I've been told. For this reason it will be up on this website only for a short time. Which also means that if you wish to take advantage and get this book, I would click on the link right now and order it. Otherwise, time will fly by and time will run out.
