It's quite rare to find a simple, yet versatile, and wholly
new type of reading system that one carry around with them
and do anytime and anywhere. This certainly is that. The
more I work with these, the more I really like them. First,
the keys are non-traditional and unique. Second, the seven
key words from Herbert Dewey's classic "THE SCAM" are
represented by being printed on each key, which makes
remembering the meanings of the keys a no-brainer. Finally,
these are actual keys, which means they'll last a lifetime
and they are extremely portable and pocket-sized.
I should note that the keys themselves are not Scott
Grossberg's idea. They are Tim Holtz' Word Keys. But the
seven keys and the words placed upon them play so well with
readings that it's almost as if Holtz was a reader himself.
The package includes the keys, plus Scott Grossberg's
40-page booklet (5.5" x 8.5", color cover). What I like
most about the booklet is that he includes ideas that are
not the usual or obvious ones I'd expect to find. Sure, one
can force a key or use equivoque or the PATEO force and use
magic or mentalism techniques to do a reading. One can also
do standard readings of past, present, and future. But
these aren't in the booklet. Included are routines
involving the meaning of how the participant holds the key
(left hand or right hand). Grossberg also discusses how to
use the keys with his Bauta method. He discusses "Key
Castings," which is the throwing of the keys to "divine the
Future and explain the Past and Present." A study chart is
also included that helps you learn some mnemonics and the
castings meanings. Among these tidbits, Grossberg tips the
routine he most often does with these keys.
I'm sure that anyone who does readings of any kind will
immediately see the incalculable value of these and probably
will have ordered this before they've read up to this point
(if they haven't already gotten it). And if one doesn't do
readings (and any mentalist really should have a few
methods), this is an extremely fun, durable, practical,
