MY COMMENTS: I had a discussion with Dan Harlan about my Greetings of the Mind and he told me that he's a mentalist at heart. Whether or not one agrees with him, this certainly is an incredible contribution to mentalism and, specifically, to those wishing to do a two-person code. His system is very easy and based in a standard code that you may already know. He does have a very clever memory system for the basic work on this. I had to try this out, so I taught my oldest son this system. At the time of this writing, he's fourteen. It took him about five minutes to learn and five minutes of practice. We then did a brief routine for his younger brother, who was quite frustrated that he couldn't figure out what was going on. On the DVD, to show how easy it is, Harlan even teaches a newbie the basic system in five minutes. Included on this DVD, which is over two hours, is a complete description of the system. To be clear, the explanation takes only a few of those minutes to explain. The rest of the DVD comprises Harlan and his partner, Jen Weston, going to a county fair and doing all sorts of psychic stunts using this sytem and demonstrating how this is done. A good majority of this disc comprises a stage show. Harlan and Weston perform a fun stage show, which is nearly 30 minutes. It contains divination of thought-of colors, names, numbers, and drawings, among others. Afterwards, Harlan and Weston explain it all. And the DVD contains templates to print out all the necessary props for the stage show (such as cleverly designed jumbo ESP cards and picture cards), plus flashcards to use with your partner to aid in learning. As the title suggests, the code is contained within the words that the sender is giving to the receiver. Harlan has made sure that this is not complicated, it is easy-to-do, and it is fun to do. If you've seen the fast-paced two person code act that the Evasons do, I can say that their style requires lots of practice and memorization to do well. This system is not designed for that, but it's an excellent and highly recommended starting point for anyone who'd like to start performing the two-person code act.
