This is The Third Man effect. It requires no sleight of
hand. It can be customised to use any photographic images

The instructions are in the form of a 32-page printed book.
The full set includes instructions, all the Polaroid-style
photos necessary to perform The Third Man and some
(ungimmicked) envelopes to get you started.
This effect is a limited release. After we've sold the 100th
copy we'll sell no more for one full year.
However, customers who own the effect will always be able to
buy replacement images or request custom sets. They are free
to make their own, too.
MY COMMENTS:
Building on an effect from Corinda's THIRTEEN STEPS OF
MENTALISM, this is a solid, sleightless, and sensational
mentalism effect. The blurb describes the effect as the
audience sees it pretty accurately and leaves little for me
to add. The instructional book is a softbound, 32-page
book, which is quite elegant for an instructional manual.
You also get the photos and envelopes. From the blurb, you
can surmise that the photos are "special" as you can get
replacements, but Simon Edwards does explain how to make
them yourself if you need to or if you need to customize the
images.
My only other comment concerns the fact that this is a
close-up effect. This is not a criticism at all. It's
merely a comment. I mention this because it could very
easily be adapted for a parlour size effect by creating
larger pictures. In fact, I'm thinking very seriously of
doing this. Needless to say, I definitely recommend this.
One final note: This is a limited run and Simon sent this
to me with only a few left remaining to sell. If you're
interested in this, by it right now. Don't delay, because,
by the time you read this, they may be sold out for a year.
