Josh Zandman
THE BLURB:
Some of the greatest minds in mentalism will take you on a journey through time and teach you how to bend reality, change the past and alter the future. Contained on the pages within, are the secrets to creating some of the most incredible time traveling presentations you could imagine. 15 routines on 100 pages. Tour Guides: Ted Karmilovich will show you one of the most incredible and impossible headline predictions ever devised. Hand your spectator an actual headline, taken from a newspaper in the future. Andrew Gerard demonstrates a hypnotic journey into the past where your spectator relives the events of her day. Returning to the past, everything is back to normal except for the time on her watch. Josh Zandman takes a Q&A routine into the future. Three answers are instantly revealed inside a sealed envelope, held by the spectator before she even answers your questions. ... and Kenton Knepper, Scott Grossberg, Nick Belleas, Greg Arce, Don Theo III, George Frega and Sean Waters. "This is great. It goes from excellent to genius and nothing less! Useable audience tested stuff that will enhance any act. The Headline/time travel effect by Ted Karmilovich is an outstanding routine. Imagine traveling ahead in time and coming back with the actual printed headline from several days in the future. Killer stuff!" - Tony Razzano "Take your spectators on a trip through the Twilight Zone and Groundhog Day all at the same time, while completely destroying their sense of reality. And that is only one of the many effects found within. I predict you are in for a real treat!" - Max Krause "The material is excellent. This is what real Theatre of the Mind is all about. Some of the most thought-provoking material this year." - Ben Harris "An eclectic collection of effects, all with a time travel theme. The effects are so strong that after reading them I feel like I indeed traveled into the future having witnessed a magic performance of a much more advanced kind." - Chris Wasshuber "I read this book some days ago. Or perhaps next week, I'm not quite sure. It's packed with delicious scripts, a couple of laugh out loud moments and lots of excellent ideas from some of my favorite thinkers." - Timothy Hyde MY COMMENTS: What a fun, thought-provoking journey through the wonderful world of time travel! Okay, time travel doesn't exactly fit my persona, and we can certainly debate its practicality as a theme in mentalism, but the effects within are really good. And most of the contributors are some of the top names in mentalism. Some of them are just time travel presentations of classics, others are very unique. If you peruse the list of contents below, you'll find a rather hefty list of stellar contributors. Back to the Future - Josh Zandman Time Travel Q&A - Josh Zandman A.I.R. - Don Theo III Paradox Card - Greg Arce The Time Traveler - Greg Arce Back to the Past - George Frega H.G.Wells - Sean Waters Circle of Energy - Nick Belleas The Pendulum's Past - Nick Belleas Paradex - Scott Grossberg Burned Into My Memory - Scott Grossberg Tools for the Well-Appointed, Time Traveling Mage - Scott Grossberg Kenton's Time Machine - Kenton Knepper Going Back - Andrew Gerard Andrija's Proof - Ted Karmilovich As with most variety books, there are some you'll like and some you won't. I'd prefer to let you discover the routines you will cherish and use. Okay, I know, that's a cop out, but that's because most of the list of contributors are all friends and if I single one or two out, I'm setting myself for some serious ribbing from the rest. But, after reading this, I do feel that this book delivers on its promises of being a unique, entertaining, and inspirational read. Available as a paperback or a downloadable e-book in PDF format.
