THE BLURB:
Timeless is an extraordinary and unusual effect with your wristwatch. Imagine being able to predict a spectator's freely-chosen time, and then being able to cause the hands of the watch to disappear completely. More than a trick, Timeless is a special watch (included) that can force any time you desire and allow you to vanish the hands. Every package includes a luxury wristwatch which has been individually prepared for use with Timeless. Also included is a DVD demonstrating Timeless performances on stage and up close by Joshua Jay, as well as step-by-step DVD instruction by Andi Gladwin. This is a complete package with everything you need to know to perform this great effect. Created by Liam Montier, with Andi Gladwin and Joshua Jay, Timeless is a truly original effect with an extrodinarily clever method that makes it easy to perform. You can force any time and then reveal that the hands have vanished with this special watch. MY COMMENTS: This one is a bit controversial, so far as mentalists are concerned. Because hands of a watch disappear, it makes this routine seem like mental magic. However, I close with Wizard's Manual and one can describe it as having a page disappear from a book. My presentation is that the page was never there and that I controlled someone to think of it. The same can be done with this. Only the people who the performer wants to remember a time need to see it. And so it's very easy to claim that a thought was put into their head and then show the proof that there are no hands on the watch. This one I had to try out to see if it's actually as impressive as it reads. Personally, I thought, for sure, that my high school students would see exactly what's going on. They didn't. They freaked. Even my sons liked it. My issue is that I don't wear a watch regularly (thanks to my carpal tunnel syndrome), but I'm seriously thinking about how I can still use this as this is something that can definitely suit me. The 30 minute (approx.) DVD instructions are hosted by Andi Gladwin who explains the basics and many other nuances, plus explains a very nice stage handling that involves more than one person. The DVD ends with Joshua Jay performing and also giving his explanation of the effect. It's easy to do. There are no sleights. It is recommended that you wear the watch and not use sleeves (for reasons apparent in the method), but there are ways around that if you pay attention to Gladwin's tips and info. It can be instantly reset and can instantly be repeated with an entirely different time, if one chose to do that. Obviously, this isn't for everyone, but I find this to be unique and certainly memorable for those whose styles this does suit.
