Tony Chris
THE BLURB:
The performer invites a spectator to embark on a magical journey though time. A small packet of cards is introduced which depict different dates from the past and the future. The performer also shows a card with a picture of H.G. Wells Time Machine and finally, a prediction of events to come is placed out in the open as well. The performer asks the spectator to imagine what it would be like to travel back in time or into the future. The story continues in an exciting manner as the spectator is asked to insert the time machine card somewhere into the packet of time cards. The spectator gets a free choice of where to insert the card into the packet. He can even choose ahead of time if he wants to travel back in time or into the future. Now for the exciting conclusion as the performer announces that he knew what year the spectator would travel to. The prediction is now revealed and it matches the exact date in time that the spectator traveled at thus ending a fantastic and magical adventure into time travel. *******INCLUDES 2 COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PRESENTATIONS OF TIME TRAVELER FEATURES: * Very easy to perform * Instant reset * Stunning magic for magicians and mentalists * Beautiful custom made cards for the routine. * Bonus cards for different presentations including universal cards for global performances. * Instructional DVD MY COMMENTS: Tony Chris puts out elegant props with easy-to-use methods. Many of his recent items use a specific technique that has been credited to Karl Fulves. This one is no different. The methodology for this is the same as his Bon Voyage. However, like Bon Voyage, the professional is not buying this for the secret, but for the well-made cards/props. I will note, though, that I was a bit bothered by the theme in which he chose. It's not the theme that's the problem, though. It's a great theme, in fact. It's that the presentation doesn't seem to fit the effect he's performing. The effect is that a year is chosen, either in the past or future, and that year is the one the performer predicted. The presentation is supposed to mention time travel, but the presentation doesn't prove that one has gone back in time or forward in time. Granted, for a professional worker, altering the presentation is an easy fix. Still, as is, the presentation that Tony Chris has on the DVD just doesn't seem to fit. Despite that, the methodology is easy and, as I stated already, the cards are quite elegant and well-made. As stated in the blurb, the package includes all the cards one needs for various presentations, including blank cards to customize this, and a twenty-two minute instructional DVD. I'm not as enthused about this product as I am about some of Chris' other stuff, but if this set of props appeals to you, then you will enjoy this.
