I love it." Ben Harris "This is a killer idea, I wish I'd thought of it!" Paul Carnazzo "It seems to me that pulling someone's exact Birth Date out of the Ethers is the ACAAN of the Psychic world. Youve nailed it with your ZEN system. Nothing suspicious, nothing clumsy, and I think its perfect for any kind of readeror just as an example of dead-on Mentalism once you, personally, know that date. Very powerful." Tom Jorgenson MY COMMENTS: Cross Ray Grismer's WHAT'S MY SIGN with one of Paul Carnazzo's mental cards and you'll have a good idea about what this is. In fact, Carnazzo worked with Ran Pink in developing this. The description doesn't really explain what it is. The performer hands the credit-card sized ZEN card to the participant who is instructed to find their season sign on the card. It will be on one of two sides, two seasons per side. Second, they are asked to find their zodiac sign, which, again, is on one of two sides. Finally, the participant is asked to find the element (Fire, Air, Earth, Water) that corresponds to their sign, which, like the other two pieces of information, will be on one of the two sides. That's it. There are no questions asked, but there are instructions. Once the participant has looked up all the information on the card, the performer knows the sign. Having secretly obtained the info, a reading can be given or the information can simply be revealed to the participant. This is just one phase. The second phase is determining the actual numerical day of their birth. This involves the participant adding a number corresponding to their element with their birthday, doubling the sum, and reducing the number to a single digit, which is then told to the performer. The day can then be deduced. The package includes two very nicely made credit-card sized cards with full color images in on them. I was very impressed with the quality of these cards. The first is the ZEN card and the second is a reference card, which, if you do this regularly, may not be necessary after a time. Along with the cards comes the 36 page, 5.5" x 8.5" instruction booklet. Along with the "How To" stuff, there's also sample readings and information on how to do this over the phone. There's also a section called "Nameology" which replaces the zodiacal element with the number of letters in their name. In other words, it does remove a step in the procedure and also makes it a bit easier to do over the phone. The consideration to this product depends on how you feel towards readings in general and revealing zodiac signs and birthdays, specifically. Also, some may find this too procedural for them, since they must follow a series of steps before information is revealed. Pink certainly provides enough scripting so that it can feel organic to the participant, but I know performers who are just uncomfortable with this type of effect. This is not a criticism, as I'm not saying this is good or bad, but merely something to consider when deciding on purchasing this. Pink has put a lot of really good thought into this product in terms of both product design and routining and, as I said, I'm very impressed with the quality of the cards. If this interests you, then I certainly recommend this.
